Organist Big John Patton’s 1966 soul jazz manifesto Got A Good Thing Goin’ was a showcase for the dynamic duo of Patton and guitarist Grant Green, whose deep rapport elevate this set of Patton-Green originals and covers of hits by Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke. They’re backed by Hugh Walker on drums and Richard Landrum on congas.
