    Description

We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records is insanely proud to team up with the mighty Ze Records (Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Was Not Was, Lio…) for an exclusive re-edition of Garçons’ no wave gem “Re-Bop”. The limited 12″ vinyl includes the original song by Marie et les Garçons produced by John Cale, its infamous “Re-Bop Electronique” rework and a dancefloor-ready and Ivan Smagghe-approved edit by Tel Aviv producers Red Axes. Garçons originated from Marie et les Garçons, a punk band from Lyon, France formed in the 70s by Patrick Vidal, Eric Fitoussi, Jean-Pierre Charriau and Marie. Quickly achieving cult status thanks to edgy releases, a performance at New York’s legendary CBGB and sharing stages with Patti Smith and Talking Heads, the band lost Marie at the end of the decade and morphed into Garçons, a trio pursuing mutant disco and no wave fantaisies. The rest is history: a short career celebrated in the underground, a deserved place in France’s best kept secret hall of fame, and a whole lot of timeless music.
