**Gatefold 2LP pressing of this killer set from Alberich, edition of 700, first 250 copies pressed on white vinyl** Hospital Productions present a redacted version of Alberich’s indomitable, spirit-crushing opus, ‘NATO-Uniformen’, cut from 30 tracks in the original 8 x cassette box (limited to 50 copies), to 19 tracks on this version, edited for the Trans Industrial Assembly in 2014 NYC. Originally deployed in 2010, its bombed-out lustre has only grown more alluring in the time since, becoming a firm favourite of everyone from Blackest Ever Black’s Kiran Sande to Endangered Species’ Vereker and ourselves, at least. Between the bludgeoned doom techno of ‘Skyweeper’, the shell-strewn darkwave scenes of ‘Man Is Ready’ and the Carpenter-esque adrenaliser, ‘Immortality Is No Consolation For Death’, Alberich finds a very specific line thru heavy electronics, bleakest synth zones and dread techno, and holds it to the last with a shell-shocked, eviscerated aesthetic most unlike any other. Many brave and reckless souls have attempted to follow in his footsteps across the no mans land of noise/techno over the past few years, but arguably none with such era-defining success and incision as found in this collection. A massive recommendation.
