German goth pioneers Xmal Deutschland – revered among British audiences in the early Eighties for their ominous and transfixing presentation of danceable darkwave, sung mostly in the German language – performed live for beloved DJ John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 program four times over the span of 1982 to 1985.
