Alfred Lion considered pianist-composer Andrew Hill as unique as Thelonious Monk and documented Hill’s music with a fervor. Recorded in 1964 with a quartet of modern jazz visionaries — Bobby Hutcherson, Richard Davis, and Elvin Jones — Judgment! was the third classic album Hill recorded in a five-month period that also produced Black Fire and Point of Departure.
